Has Google lost its way?

When I saw this http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/10/21/new-google-music-service-launch-imminent/ it made wonder if Goggle is about to launch another me too service.  It seems like they to copy everyone and develop their own service.  Harsh, maybe as we all know  product development can take time and maybe they are being beaten to the punch, again and again.  Or is it because they are not good at telling me what they are about.. Maybe like many challenger brands they dont care?  I add to this stream of thoughts friends who use Google Adwords with account support and they all tell me how painful it has been.  Their core business? Have they lost focus, is this scope creep in the extreme?  And lets not forget the whole book thing an attempt ‘to not be evil’ or a real case of stakeholder mismanagement.  It could be also they are trying to do the whole digitlife thing? Their mission is ‘to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.’  What does not fit under that?  Will I be able to download my free and keep a backup on a new google app..  Or is it my inability to allow a company out of its original box? At what point do you become ‘microsoft evil’ or ‘apple control freak’?
